National Credit Union Money Smart Week April 19–25, 2009

Extra Credit Union spent April 19–25 hosting a series of free seminars and resources designed to help our members and the community manage their personal finances, answere tough mortgage questions, and help them in the right direction to survive financially through the unemployment crunch.

Dealing with a Financial Emergency: Short Term Financial Planning

Extra Credit Union, Walsh College, MI Council on Economic Education, and Cygnet Institute were pleased to sponsor this event. Families with drastically reduced income and high expenses benefited greatly from the information presented.

 

How to Choose a Mortgage

Extra Credit Union mortgage experts answered the mortgage questions everyone should be asking.

 

Surviving Financially Through the Unemployment Crunch

Attendees received hands-on tools and learned practical tips on how to stay afloat and cut expenses during times of job loss.

 

Coffee with the Financial Coach

We answered your basic finance questions, gave you the right tools for debt reduction, and helped you learn to manage your money.

 

Mad City Money™

Students learned what it was like to live in the real world. We gave them a job, a spouse, some kids and all of theirbasic expenses. It was their responsibility to make it to the end of the game with money left in their pocket.

Elementary students at our partner schools located in Macomb Countywere eligible to participate in our “Saving is Cool” Rap contest and win $100 cash!
