Role

Assist members with preparing their loan applications for closing by reviewing loan queues quickly, while striving to book loans quickly. Work as a Team Member of the Member Services Department while ensuring that all processes and policies are being followed to close loans and open accounts.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all details are completed regarding closing and setting appointments for closing loans. Contact vendors to schedule GPS installation, lien verification and other necessary details. Provide face-to-face closings with members.
  • Review member loan applications and prepare them for all types of closing, including lobby, face-to-face and E-Endorse. Ensure all details are included with the loan and that they are closed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prior to closing, complete a detailed check list for each loan, ensuring that all items are provided and reviewed to ensure compliance, accuracy and completeness. Open accounts as necessary for new members. Complete loan closings accurately.
  • Perform back-office duties to complete loan files and tracking processes, including lien perfection.
  • Cross-offer Extra Credit Union services to members.
  • Support members and teammates in the lobby and by phone or email.

Performance Measurements

  1. Provide prompt, accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members and coworkers
  2. Adhere to credit union sales and service standards.
  3. Strong product and service knowledge is required, in addition to passing the Product and Service Knowledge Assessment on an annual basis.
  4. Ensure timely and accurate closings of all loans and account openings. Provide support to all lending and member service areas.
  5. Completes monthly assigned back-office duties by designated deadlines.
  6. Meet required departmental goals. Contribute to booked loans and annual loan volume.
  7. Maintain a professional, courteous and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers while supporting a team environment.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience: Up to six months of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills:Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills with windows and above-average keyboarding skills are required. Problem solving and multitasking skills needed. Must be team focused.

Comply with job related regulatory requirements including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending Regulations.

Physical Requirements:This job requires using hands and fingers to keyboard for data entry into a computer, which may include repetitive motions. Ordinary visual acuity is needed to prepare and revise documents. Average hearing ability is necessary to receive detailed information verbally. This job is mainly sedentary and may require the candidate to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally
