Recently, Extra Credit Union was made aware of a new type of fraud attempt.
Members have reported receiving text messages such as: “Member Alert: Your Extra CU Account has been placed on hold due to security concerns. Please visit (fictional web link) now to restore your account.”
Please be aware this text message may not be coming from Extra Credit Union. If you receive a text such as this, please log into your eBanking account online or via the eBanking App, or call us at 586-276-3000.
Remember, Extra Credit Union will never ask for your account credentials such as:
- Your member number, social security number, or date of birth;
- Your PIN, card number or eBanking login information;
- One-time verification codes or links sent to you;
- And we will never ask you to log in into your account to verify transactions or “test” transactions.
