They’ll soon be graduating, and many will be off on their own, so what better time than now for Yale High School’s class of 2024 to get a dose of the real world, finances and all.
Extra Credit Union debuted its new Real Life. Real Choices financial reality simulation at Yale High School on November 21.
The students were given a career, salary, and some even had debt or kids. They visited 12 stations and worked out a budget for housing, transportation, food, childcare, and more. Three students, one from each group, also won $50 in cash.
The simulation comes at no cost to participating schools and is offered as part of Extra Credit Union’s financial literacy efforts to help students better prepare for financial responsibilities as they grow and enter the real world.
